The EDS45/50
The EDS45/50 is an original take on the classis 5F6A/JTM45 circuit. We retain the dual 6L6 version as in the
5F6A-59 Bassman. Instead of 4 inputs (2 normal, and 2 bright), we offer the same #1, and #2 (-6dB) inputs and a
bright/normal switch. The same cathode driven tone stack is used with the full Treble, Bass, Middle, and Presence
control. The same long tail phase splitter is used to drive the power amp. A three position standby switch is added
for tube, standby, or solid state rectifier mode to provide a bit more headroom and punch in SSR mode if desired.
An impedance switch is included on the back (4, 8, 16 ohm positions), and two speaker jacks wired in parallel.
Outside bias probe points are included and an external trim pot so power tube bias can be done without removing
the chassis. The amp is housed in the smaller Marshall 20watt style head box (top loaded) so it is small, light, and
portable (little power pack). The Spring-Verb, and/or Tremo-Verb make a great companion for this head.
Each amplifier is hand wired in our shop in Carlsbad, CA, USA.
